In art class you have been researching the impressionist artist Vincent Van Gogh.  The print you see here is from the Philadelphia Fine Arts Museum and it hangs in my sitting room.  There is so much emotion in his work, and I especially like this picture, titled La Mousme.  I often wonder, what is she thinking about?  And, I like to imagine stories about her and her life.  I think that Van Gogh must have liked this girl very much, for he painted her so beautifully.

Listen to this song by Don McLean, about Vincent Van Gogh. Then email me your answers to the questions below.

Authors purpose:   1. Why did the author write this song?
                               2.  What emotions is he trying to convey?
                               3.  What was Van Gogh struggling with?
                               4.  How do you feel about Van Gogh’s work and why?
