Monday’s work

 St. Project is due tomorrow, Tuesday, November 17th. See Saint Project packet that was sent home 11/9.

Study for reading test- Me and Uncle Romie (reread the anchor text, pay attention to who is telling the story, p.o.v, what was James’ opinion of his uncle? How/why did his opinion change?  What is the theme and main idea of the story?) Study figurative language (idioms and similes, use context clue to decode) and study vocabulary from the story.  Grammar: present, past, and future progressive verbs.  Choose the correct helping verb for each type of verb.

 Reading: create flash cards for our new story Me and Uncle Romie

Glorious, studio, concerned, model, smeared, ruined, yanked, streak, schedule, feast (index cards, ziploc bag sent home today)

*Tomorrow we will reread the anchor story and complete a character chart, identifying the main characters thoughts, words and actions-you can find this chart in the Home Letter that went home last week.  Use this chart as a guide to help your child understand what the main characters are like using text evidence.   

**Math: study for Chapter 4 math test, look for the study guide that went home today.

***Religion: St Project due next Tuesday.  Chapter 5 test is scheduled for this Wednesday.

Handwriting: lesson 9 with free write due tomorrow

IXL: work on IXL skills for 10 minutes.

* Parents, look for “Home Letter” that went home today.  It outlines the  focus skills for our new story “Me and Uncle Romie”.  Included: vocabulary word cards, vocabulary worksheet, graphic organizer, and figurative language activity sheet. 

 You may work on these skills/activities at home with your child as we go through the story.


Chapter 4, Math test will take place next week on Tuesday.
