Tuesday's Homework: due tomorrow

Grammar activity, use a picture from a magazine or  a photo and create 4 different types sentences around the photo.  Imperative, Declarative, Interrogative and Exclamatory.

Readworks:  visit Readworks.org, read Fashion Do's and Don't, then  complete and submit question set. *class code for readworks can be found in your child's homework folder

Week 2 and Going Strong!

Homework Assignment:

Work due tomorrow: 

Complete and return Million Word Count

Seesaw:  Please have your child visit seesaw and complete the Types of Sentences activity.

School Email accounts:  please record and send in your child's password to their school email account.  We need this information so they can gain access to google classrooms.

IXL weekly study skills:

ELA  JJ.1 & JJ.2  these 2 skills focus on the 4 types of sentences and subject / predicates.

Math  A.1 & A.2  these 2 focus on identifying place value and ways to write numbers.

Please have you student work on said skills through out the week in short blocks of time.  For example work to a smart score of 70- 80 by Wednesday and by Friday your child should work to a smart score of 100.  
**Completion of IXL skills is due Monday, 8/24 before the start of school.

Happy Thursday!!!

If you have not done so please set up your child's Seesaw account (see email that was sent out yesterday). Seesaw will be used for both remote learners and in house learners. Tommorrow we will wrap up our learning of identifying theme and empathy. We will read Thank you Mr. Falkner and then students will also write a thank you note to someone special in thier lives. Students may wear thier gym shoes all day on Monday and Friday for P.E. **Sorry no pictures or a blog post yesterday- the internet has been a bit of a bear these past two days.

Remote Scholars and In House Scholars

 Tomorrow we will read the story The Word Collector by Peter Reynolds.  We will focus on “theme” and work on a vocabulary expanding activity to help scholars discover the power of words.  In house students will continue to practice procedures and we will begin to create our classroom rules.

The Day You Begin

                                     Welcome to Mrs. Miller's 4th grade class!   

 Dear Scholars,

I am so excited to have you in my class this year! We are going to do and learn many new things.  Fourth grade is a challenging year, we learn to take on more responsibility, we dig deeper into academic content and develop great friendships.  Your time in 4th grade will be well spent.

I am here to teach you, to inspire you, and to help you grow.  We are a fantastic group of scholars and I look forward to a terrific year ahead.   Please bring bottled water and a light snack to school
